Under completely new management, The Miller's Kitchen welcomed its first customers on 28th January 2019. The new-look café has undergone an incredible transformation during the two weeks it took for refurbishment, with the interior décor echoing the history of the neighbouring ancient flour mill.
During the spring and summer of 2020, further improvements to the café were made. This included a kitchen re-fit, a refresh to the interior décor and replacement tables chairs to provide more comfort. Additional outdoor seating was created in the grounds to cater for our very popular al fresco dining.
Charlie de Lara Bell, a Baker by trade, is now running The Miller's Kitchen, along with Claire and their team of staff. Charlie has previously worked for one of Suffolk's oldest bakeries, Palmers in Haughley and for Dave Wright, an award-winning Cake Shop Bakery in Woodbridge. He also spent time working in New Zealand so you can expect some of the South Pacific influences to appear on the Specials Menu, including ANZAC biscuits and Lolly Cake, a mixture of marshmallowy fruit puffs, biscuit, butter and condensed milk - an antipodean version of tiffin!
